Russian World Professor program
Systematizes the posting of Russian specialists abroad at the invitation of foreign partners and teaching of the Russian language and other subjects on site
Seeking to assist in the implementation of Russian educational programs for teaching the Russian language and other subjects abroad, the Russkiy Mir Foundation has approved and launched the Russian World Professor program. Under this program, the Foundation makes donations to Russian and foreign educational organizations and establishments for opening offline and online training courses. Training in the offline format is supported through posting Russian specialists abroad at the invitation of foreign partners.
An application from an educational organization filed either directly with the Russkiy Mir Foundation or via a Russian higher educational establishment, which operates as a partner, serves as the grounds for joining the program. An application from a Russian higher educational establishment must enclose a document (letter) formally declaring the host’s interest in the project.

An application for joining the Russian World Professor program must contain the following information:
  • Precise timeframe of the project
  • Training program details
  • Number of teaching hours
  • Description of target audience (number, year of studying, level of proficiency in Russian, etc.)
  • Forms of assessment (an exam, a credit, a test, etc.)
  • Co-financing or other form of participation in the project (for instance, provision of accommodation, transfer, etc.)
Offline training programs may have different lengths but programs of up to one month are a priority. The duration of offline teaching programs depends on the interests of the foreign side.

Projects teaching the Russian language are a priority, however, programs in other subjects, which raise the significance of the Russian Federation in the world humanitarian space, are also considered.

The criteria for granting support are:
  • Demand for learning the Russian language in the host country (region)
  • The number and composition of students
  • A teacher’s competences
  • Co-funding by the posting or hosting party
  • Support by Russian government agencies
